VDA 290-110 (11/2024)
VDA 290-110 Ausführungshinweise zur VDA Band 2 - Auslösematrix für Elastomer- und TPE-Anwendungen / Execution Instructions for VDA Volume 2 - Trigger Matrix for
Elastomer and TPE Applications (11/2024) - Gruppenlizenz (group license), AGB (GTC) Art. 10, 2 - Language of the document German and English
Raw material availability in supply chains is more volatile than ever in the current times and will remain so. The trend towards shorter product life cycles is increasing development efforts. Electrification inevitably leads to increasing diversification.
Against this challenging environment, new ways must also be found in workflows and processes to ensure quality and function under all circumstances and to ensure it sustainably. In addition, all stakeholders in the supply chain must remain capable of acting. The following points are important:
- Short-term reaction to supply bottlenecks / delivery interruptions is more important than in the past in order to ensure quality and remain able to deliver in the future
- Opportunities in the modernization / revision of processes and the use of modern methods (digitalization) – while maintaining at least the same quality and taking into account all legal requirements
- Standards help the entire automotive industry: increase transparency, avoid duplication of work
Therefore, it is important to specify the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard and the VDA Volume 2 PPF/ AIAG PPAP Manual in order to improve communication transparency along the supply chain.
Based on the release matrix (VDA Volume 2), these instructions describe
- a regulated, concretized verification of raw materials/recipes and for the resulting manufacturing processes of elastomer and TPE applications and
- Communication with the customer.
The implementation notes in this VDA recommendation serve to provide a more precise understanding of the VDA trigger matrix and do not cancel any claims in accordance with this matrix.
