Brake noise dyno test results tend to vary from each other in particular when comparing results from different laboratories.Since there is no general rule for the root causes of such test result variability, a feasible approach is to ensure that those test parameters known to be relevant are consistent within a project - both between different tests and between different dynos.A priorization and standardized documentation of test input parameters combined with recommendations for parameter values forms the basis for a brake noise dyno test certification.Performing “EKB 3010 certified” tests at appointed milestones within a project is expected to reduce systematic uncertainties of test results.
