The current specification is not binding and describes the information needed to exchange harness design data cross process steps and supporting tools. The recommendation defines the required objects with their descriptions and attributes, a formal information model and the representation in XML.
The recommendation deals with the following subject areas:
- Harness components like connectors or wires
- Connectivity and wiring
- Topology and geometry
- Physical electric system in harnesses, variants and modules, part Lists
