The situation catalog describes situations and their E-parameters, which can be used for the application in a hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA) as per ISO 26262-3:2018. It is intended to form an industry-wide database for the situation evaluation in the context of a HARA. The E-parameters are specified for each situation (if relevant), considering duration and frequency (see ISO 26262- 3:2018, Appendix B.3). The E-parameters are classified by experts on the basis of various evaluated data sources with a focus on cars (without special vehicles such as motor homes or taxis).
The specific data bases for the classifications (if available), can be found in the reference data for the respective situations. The validity of ISO 26262 remains unaffected by the situation catalog. The situation catalog does not claim to be complete.
