The following information describes the procedure for determining the coefficient of friction behaviour of brake linings by means of testing and describing the results in terms of characteristic values. The intention is to achieve a uniform quality during development phase and production.
The specifications initially comprise phases 3 to 6 of the ISO DIS 15484 document "Road Vehicles – Brake Linings – Friction Materials for Passenger Cars PC and Commercial Vehicles CV – Product definition and assurance" (all linings manufactured during the development phase until production start).
All observations are based on a defined brake system and initially do not have any generally valid significance.
