The VDA recommendations are nonbinding rec-ommendations that are available for anyone to use. Anyone using these recommendations is responsible for ensuring that they are being used correctly.
The VDA recommendations give due considera-tion to the prevailing state-of-the-art at the time of publication. Use of the VDA recommendations does not allow a person to avoid assuming re-sponsibility for his or her actions. In this respect, everyone acts at his or her own risk. The VDA assumes no liability whatsoever.
We request that anyone encountering an error or the possibility of an incorrect interpretation when using the VDA recommendations contacts the VDA immediately so that any errors can be rectified.
The document is a translation of the German version. Therefore, the German document rep-resents the original and should be referenced in case of discrepancies. Due to the fact that this document is a translation, it may be the case that the English text leaves room for interpreta-tion because certain terms are often deeply rooted in the original language, and therefore it is not possible to tr anslate them into another language without a certain degree of ambiguity arising.
