This test is intended to determine the abrasion resistance of leather surfaces used in the seating area. A Martindale test apparatus in accordance with DIN EN ISO 12947 is used for the purpose. In order to achieve a more severe test situation – as it may be found in day-to-day use – a ball plate is placed underneath the specimen.
