The procedure serves to determine the ageing behavior of polymer automotive components in their original installation positions with their original installation method. It is applied to complex assemblies or entire vehicles and is therefore particularly suitable for demonstrating interactions between different materials within a component or between several components.
Compared with DIN 75202, the scope is extended by assessment of the changes regarding all characteristics relevant for use, such as form, color, gloss, haptics, strength, and of the consequences of different levels of thermal expansion due to exposure to artificial global radiation, heat/cold and humidity.
