This recommendation describes the process of calibration of colour measurement instruments.
Note: This document provides a guideline for the procedures for calibrating colour measuring instruments. The correct calibration (DIN 1319) of colour measuring instruments is one of the main requirements for achieving reproducible results. An incorrect of insufficient calibration can have a major impact and may lead to wrong results.
In order to achieve the highest accuracy, both the basic conditions of the calibration (temperature, positioning of the calibration standard) and the instructions of the manufacturer regarding the calibration have to be strictly followed.
