This non-binding VDA recommendation is intended to achieve the following objectives:
Recommendation for integrating the control of an electronic parking brake into the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) control unit for cooperation between different suppliers (OES) for the ESC (ZSB-ESC) and the brake caliper (ZSB-brake).
The recommendation was developed for vehicle classes M1 (according to Regulation 2007/46/EC: vehicles for the transport of passengers) and N1 (according to Regulation 2007/46/EC: vehicles for the transport of goods) with a maximum permissible mass of up to 3.5 tons. Furthermore, a hydraulic braking system was used as the basis.
