Electrical steel strip and sheet (ES) is a steelworks material. Its production and processingchain was optimised, for contributing to optimal performance of the electric systems, which utilise it as ferromagnetic core. The energetically important parameters of such an electrical system are partly determined by the magnetic, mechanical, thermal and by the properties of the insulating coating. The manufacturing and the further processing of the ES into the electric machine influences a.o. the magnetic properties. The evaluation methods of the magnetic, mechanical and thermal properties, as well as the insulating coating properties are partly described in standards, however they need to be made coherent with the requirements of electric systems.
