This document describes the requirements for uncoated and continuously coated, surface treated, cold rolled and hot rolled sheet steel materials with thicknesses of 0.4 to 6.0 mm for automotive body applications. Typical applications are cold formed sheet metal parts.
These products shall be supplied as strip (coils), slit strip or sheet material. Hot rolled flat products are usually supplied in thicknesses greater than 1,6 mm, for uncoated products in a pickled and oiled condition. Deviations from the thickness limit 1,6 mm, dependent on steel grade, coating, dimension or manufacturing process, e.g. direct strip casting, are possible. Additional requirements or agreements may be specified between customer and producer, e. g. mechanical properties with smaller tolerances or reduced tolerances for width and thickness and coating thicknesses.
