This VDA Recommendation defines the illumination and observation conditions for the purpose of assessing differences in color. These conditions can be applied for making visual assessments in diffuse daylight or the specified artificial light sources.
The objective is the visual perception and assessment of color differences between the sample and the standard, which are caused by factors such as colorants, layering and surface structures.
